You might be saying, “Wait, what?” In the past this site was used for my music projects and recordings. I have since moved all things related to my music journey to https://nicolasks.com. This reflects my music career pseudonym of “Nic Olas” and encompasses all things I do musically. I hope you check it out!
So, this site will now be for me to blog about things that I am into, for the most part. OK, that is at least the plan for now… I can be kind of fickle when it comes to things I like. But while I was creating categories here to encompass the things I like to do/talk about, I came up with the following six topics:
- Guitars
- Music
- Motorcycles
- History
- Genealogy
- Literature (reading)
I have a few others that are more occasional things rather than hobbies. Things like gaming (I like Minecraft and Star Trek: Fleet Command), Cigar box guitar building, and information technology (not a hobby, it’s what I do for a living that bleeds over into non-work life – but I find continually learning things about Linux and virtualization kind of fun) might pop-up but not with the same frequency as the above six.
Then there is politics and current events. I am not sure at this point if that is something I want to address on this blog. The main reason is that I find them both rather stressful. They also both tend to put me in a bad mood or state of mind. For now, I plan on steering clear of them both. Maybe that will change in the future, I mean, having a voice for what I stand for is certainly something worth blogging about, but again, they tend to make me upset rather than feeling good, so for now they are on the back burner.
Maybe that will make my blog boring. I don’t really care, as quite honestly, I don’t expect many people to even bother with reading. I mean who really gives a crap about a middle aged white guy from the Midwest talking about guitars, bikes and research? If you do find it interesting, you’re welcome! LOL!
I guess this blog is really just a way for me to say things as I feel like saying them, even if they are to myself. Maybe some family members and friends will read, but for the most part that is really about all I expect. Back to talking about politics and current events, if those were the topics I would probably find more readers, and more interest. But right now I am not ready for that…
So, if you are interested in guitars, music, bikes, history, genealogy and literature, I hope you’ll pop-in now and then and read what I have to offer. I’m sure it won’t be earth shattering or life changing, but it will be honest and from the heart from someone not trying to sell you something or feed you a line of BS.
